Marshall Orthopaedics’ Dr. Chad Lavender, founder of the Lavender Fertilized ACL technique, is one of the world’s most respected orthopedic surgeons and author of the newly released textbook “Biologic and Nanoarthroscopic Approaches in Sports Medicine,” available on Amazon and other outlets.
Lavender has given seminars on his surgical techniques across the United States and worldwide, including on numerous occasions via Arthrex MedEd. He has a five-star rating from U.S. News & World Report.
Raised in tiny Chesapeake, West Virginia, Lavender attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine and played football for the Power 5 school for three years. It was there he saw a need for improved techniques in the field of orthopedics, especially regarding ACL injuries.
Lavender’s residency was at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. His fellowship was at the Orthopaedic Research of Virginia – Sports Medicine in Richmond. Lavender is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He lives in Teays Valley, W.Va., with wife Michelle and children Chance Lavender and daughter Louren Pack.
